Plus, the Apollo/Octo shares processing, not just with UAD plugins, but also (I think, don't quote me on this) shares DSP with off-board plugins. I have 50 tracks+ in this one song I'm mixing, and each one has at least one (but, usually more) UAD plugins on it. My rep at Sweetwater convinced me to buy the Octo Satellite, and it f-ing rules! You literally never run out of DSP. That being said, if you're making your own recording/mixing console with UAD's SSL, API, Neve (etc.) channel strips, the Quad runs out of DSP rather quickly (which was a surprise). LUNA sort of hints at this in the DAW, but if you're a serious producer/mixer, you won't be using LUNA for recording or mixing, you'll most likely be going with Logic or PT, and maybe using LUNA for mastering/finishing (maybe). the whole point of using UAD products is to emulate the entire experience of using analog gear, including a recording console. I bought the Apollo Twin Quad, and it's an awesome product! But. The Octo Satellite is a must have if you're a serious producer/mixer!
